Do not download or install file recovery software to the drive that data has to be recovered from! See 'suggested use' below!
You can recover files without file size limitations in trial mode so you can fully review the software before buying. However, when recovering files using the trial version:
- You can only select and copy one file at a time
- You can not copy folders
- A 3 second delay occurs before the selected file is copied
- A pop-up message is displayed with each file copied
These limitations are removed as soon as you register the software! To prevent you from having to scan a disk again, iUnformat immediately switches to non-trial mode once the license key has been entered, so you can then start recovering your files.
Chances for successful recovery are dramatically improved if file
recovery software is installed prior to loss of data! So, even if

Undelete / Unformat modes: |
Undelete Mode
Select undelete mode to recover deleted files. These include files
that were deleted from the Recycle Bin, from a command prompt (console
window), or files that were deleted by applications.
Scanning a drive for deleted files does normally not take more than a few minutes.
Unformat Mode
Select unformat mode to recover files from (accidentally) formatted drives. You can even recover files from an NTFS drive if it has been reformatted to another file-system.
In unformat mode each sector on the entire drive is scanned, examined
and classified. Depending on the drive size the process may take
from a few minutes up to several hours.
Note: data is not recovered in place! This means that files will not re-appear at the place where they were deleted. Instead files are copied to an alternative destination drive. The destination drive can be any write enabled drive that has a drive letter assigned.
