Virtual DJ Studio

Virtual DJ Studio is not like all of the other DJ programs out there. While other programs limit you to two players with a Cross-Fader, Virtual DJ Studio provides you with an entire studio.
Virtual DJ Studio gives you a mixer-board interface. Each line offers things you would expect from a typical mixer -- volume fader, mute, crossfader assignment, etc. Additionally, each line contains an MP3/WAV/Karaoke player, with all of the controls you might expect -- including a Pitch/Tempo control. If you have two or more sound cards/audio devices, you can route any line to your secondary device, for headphone preview or beat-matching. Alternatively, you might use this feature to simply allow more control with your external mixer.

- New: Full Karaoke Support!
Imagine that you are hosting a Karoke gig. Imagine that you
have the next five songs ready to go, each in its own player.
Imagine that someone decides they want to sing. Imagine that
you pull up their song in seconds, and they are able to sing
right now. Imagine that the Karaoke lyrics are displayed on
top of a custom background image of your choice (perhaps your
logo, or a holiday-inspired image), instead of the plain-old
solid color you're used to. Imagine that you are able to adjust
the key, pitch, and tempo for the user, and even correct the
sync if a scratched CD is used .
The days of hunting down a Karaoke CD, finding the right track,
and having only one or two singers queue'd up are gone! With
a Laptop or Desktop/Tower PC, a large hard disk (external USB
or internal), and a decent video card (one offering S-Video
or TV output), you can replace not only your CD players; you
can eliminate the need for cases of CDs, and take up less space
than you ever imagined!

A small table with your computer and a mixer is all that is
needed. You can pull up music quickly, and mix it professionally;
you can have customers' Karaoke songs ready far in advance;
most importantly, you can spend less time hunting down CDs,
and more time being personable with your customers. Pulling
up a song request or Karaoke title has never been easier or
faster. Customers will notice this, and will subconciously see
you as a better DJ than those still using CDs -- especially
with Karaoke, where customers are used to waiting 10 minutes
for the DJ to locate and queue up their song.

DJ software. Laid out like a Mixer, each Line features a full
MP3, WAV, Karaoke, and Playlist player, each with its own Volume
Fader, Pitch/Tempo control, and more.
You can select how many Lines appear on VDJs interface. You can configure as many lines as will fit on your screen. .
- Singers List
Even though VDJ looks different from other Karaoke programs,
it still contains a Singer's List feature. When enabled, you
can queue up any number of songs, along with the name of the
person who wishes to sing it. From there, you can drag a song
into a line in VDJ, or simply double-click to launch the file
in the first line. VDJ will also display a list of singers/songs
in the CDG window when no karaoke file is being played (for
example, if your CDG window is connected to a second monitor,
television, or multiple TVs, your patrons will know who's up
next, and when their song will be up).
- Easy to Use
Don't be intimidated by the number of buttons you see in the
picture. If you have a knack for audio equipment, you will quickly
pick up on VDJs use. VDJ comes with a complete Help file, including
a Getting Started guide that will have you mixing MP3s in no
time!
- File Navigator
The integrated File Navigator functions as a file manager, displaying
all supported file types along with extra information (bitrate,
sample frequency, bit resolution, etc). The File Navigator lets
you preview any file without having to open it. File Navigator
also contains an integrated Playlist Editor, for building and
managine PLS, M3U or VDJ playlist files.
File Navigator also has two File Queues, holding areas for songs
you just want to keep handy. You might use one for song requests,
and the other to store common popular tunes. Both File Queues
remember what they contained the next time you open VDJ.
- Headphone Support
VDJ allows you to use an extra sound card for CUEing, or Previewing,
a sound file. You can use this feature to assist with beat-mixing
(fading two songs together on-beat), or for simply previewing
a song before playing it live. Many DJs use their laptop's built-in
sound for previewing (since the quality of the internal sound
chip is often lacking), and an external USB audio device for
their main mix. This configuration allows you the flexibility
you are used to with dual CD decks and an external mixer; just
like a real mixer, enabling the CUE button routes that line
to the headphone output (eg, to your Secondary Sound Card).
- Plugin Support
VDJ now offers Plugin support. Third parties can contribute
audio processing plugins that can be used within VDJ's Plugin
Manager. VDJ comes with a few Plugins as well, including a Compressor/Limiter,
a Low-Pass Filter, and Stereo Expansion.
- Context menu and tool bar driven
At first glance, there doesn't appear to be much going on with
liveDJpro. But there is a lot behind the scenes. Context menus
consist of a list of function relating to the object that you
right-clicked. For example, a Playlist in liveDJpro on it's
own looks quite basic, but, if you right click on the Playlist,
a whole host of available functions appear out of nowhere such
as Load, Save, Save as, Shuffle, rename and Select.
This is how liveDJpro keeps neat and tidy without cluttering the screen with things you don't need.
Then we have the tool bars. Most Windows have their own tool bar and, if it's the Main Window or a primary Window, the tool bars can be configured to react to key press combinations.
